It's 2:22 am central and I can't sleep. the screen hanging from the ceiling shows that we're currently flying over the amazon. We flew to Houston first and with all the time changes I've lost count of how many hours we've been flying...all I know is that I can't sleep. "Where You Go I Go" (the song we used for the Children of the Night video) is playing on my iPhone as I write this. God is already turning my thoughts toward the people of this great country.
"…Jesus only did what he saw you do, he would only say what he heard you speak..."
Oh God, break my heart for the lost and hurting here.
"Oh the beauty of your name will be seen upon my face oh God"
They say you can have a girl of any age in Brazil…I don't have any stats handy, but I know there are more homeless children in Sao Paulo than I can even fathom. Lord, take me out of my comfortable middle class box and help me to bring your love.
"...help me to be more like you."
I'm so tired of looking down my nose at those less "refined" than me. Strip away my flesh and give me a heart like yours. I don't want to work out of pity but out of YOUR love and compassion
"I would not begin to live without you for you alone are worthy and you are always good"
Lord, help us to do only what the Father is doing and say only what the Father is saying.
